Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County presents Reynolds 150: Reflecting on the Past, Celebrating the Present, and Creating our Future. Reynolds 150 will be on display in the Main Gallery of Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts April 4 – June 1, 2025 with an opening reception Friday, April 4, 4-6 PM.
In 2025, the Reynolds American organization is celebrating its 150th anniversary, dating back to the founding of the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in 1875. To commemorate this significant milestone, the Reynolds organization collaborated with Arts Council to commission original works of art from local professional artists, passionate amateurs, and talented employees to create a calendar that celebrates the organization’s profound and long-lasting impact on Winston-Salem. The calendar was given to 4,000+ Reynolds organization employees as part of a specially curated box supporting local businesses to kick off the 150th anniversary year. These original works of art from the featured artists in the calendar will be on display in the Main Gallery as a part of the exhibition.
“The Reynolds American organization is proud to collaborate with the Arts Council to celebrate the City of Arts and Innovation,” said Kara Calderon, senior director of sustainability and community engagement within the Reynolds American organization. “This unique initiative allows us to commemorate Reynolds’ 150th milestone and give back in a meaningful way—by showcasing artists who have creatively captured Winston-Salem’s shared history and culture.”
Featured artists in the Reynolds 150 exhibition include Nick Bragg, Sam McKissick, Leo Rucker, Alex Robinson, Miki Hickel, Taylor Doster, Zac Bender, Robyn Churn, Danielle Keever, Alleah Pellegrino, Wendy Prior, Owens Daniels, Sharon Minton, and Bryn Lenkaitis.
