Hanes Mill Road Landfill Access Limited by Month-Long U.S. 52 Ramp Closures
A contractor will close the U.S. 52 northbound ramps at Hanes Mill Road for a month starting Monday, Aug. 18, at 7 a.m. as part of the NC DOT Hanes Mill Road Widening project. Work is expected to be completed on Wednesday, Sept. 17, weather permitting.
These closures will allow construction of tie-ins for new ramp and loop alignments. The contractor is responsible for all traffic control and detours will be posted. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and plan for alternate routes. See the links below for maps and more details.

Northwest Boulevard Closure – Monday August 18- Tuesday August 19
Northwest Boulevardwill be closed to through traffic between Derry and Trade streets in Winston-Salem on Monday, Aug. 18, and Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for water system improvements.
Detours will be posted, and motorists are encouraged to plan for alternate routes.

Sewer Rehabilitation Closures
Work continues on the system-wide sewer rehabilitation project in Winston-Salem. A contractor will close the following streets weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Monday, Aug. 18:
- Third Street between Main and Liberty streets
- 20th Street between Thurmond Street and Harrison Avenue
- Main Street between Fourth and Fifth streets – right lane and parking
Work is expected to be completed by Friday, Aug. 22, weather permitting. The contractor is responsible for all traffic control. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and plan for alternate routes.
