Older adults should never have to choose between paying for housing and medication—unfortunately, those decisions are being made every day.
Too many seniors are alone, hungry, and struggling to meet basic needs. For people who find themselves in this situation obtaining the basics, such as bath soap, toothpaste, paper towels, and other household, hygiene, and health necessities are seldom even an option.
Senior Services, along with the help of our partners at Piedmont Federal Bank are committed to relieving the stress for older adults participating in our programs—and you can help! Each year we collect vitally needed shelf-stable food and household essentials during our Christmas in July and Remember in December item drives.
It’s an event where the whole community can get involved! You can help by donating comfort, care, and/or shelf-stable food items during the entire months of July and December. You can also organize a team or group to raise money and/or collect items.
During the months of the drives, donations can be dropped off at Senior Services, 2895 Shorefair Drive, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm or at any Forsyth County Branch of Piedmont Federal Bank! Just look for the Big Red Boxes during July and December each year!
