The Art SHAC’s mission is to inspire creativity and sustainability by providing affordable, gently used art materials to the community, in addition to art education. We are a 501(c)(3) organization that provides inexpensive, quality materials to the local creative community, teaches about art and reuse in a fun, playful, and diverse environment, and helps educators stretch their budgets with affordable and unique materials. Our nonprofit gives households, manufacturers, and businesses a way to donate unwanted materials. The Art SHAC fosters a green economy and diverts thousands of pounds of usable materials from landfills.
We have a lot happening this fall! Did you know that Art SHAC is an all-volunteer-run organization? Now that we have an actual location, we need staffing to have regular hours. We need help with sorting donations, working pop-up booths, helping with art classes, and more. If you are interested in volunteering but would like to know more, visit theartshac.org/volunteer!
Art SHAC is also collecting art supplies for Diggs-Latham Elementary School. Bring drawing and construction paper, crayons, markers colored pencils, sharpie markers, gel pens, to name a few. See the complete list of needs at theartshac.org.
